Hi! I’m Maria.

I kicked off my real estate career in 2006 so, as I type, I have a touch off 12 years in the industry….which is considerably longer than I’ve been blogging.

Note: I am a Licensed Salesperson as opposed to a Licensed Agent and generic references to ‘agents’ in this blog are primarily referring to Licensed Salespeople.

So, what makes me different from every other agent you ever met who yelled: “Pick Me!”?

Transparency

I recognize that the real estate industry has a deserved reputation for smoke and mirrors and am committed to keeping it real – in everything from your appraisal, to recommending strategy, to talking about whether selling right now is really in your best interests.

I will tell you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear. And I will not selectively feed you information in order to elicit a certain response.

Transparency is the name of the game and my role is to provide you with all relevant information you need to make an informed choice. What this comes down to is providing and deconstructing data for you, making recommendations complete with a thorough explanation as to why they are in your best interests and highlighting potential cons/risks. After that, the choice is yours.

Versatility

To date I’ve marketed and sold across 32 Auckland suburbs which is, admittedly, a tad unusual as most agents choose to work in a small area local to their base of operation.

Working across Auckland has been a blast. There’s no other way to describe it. It has given me fabulous exposure and experience with a myriad of property types and the uniqueness of various communities across our city. In an industry where all of our business is conducted on the clients premises and technological advances mean the data we require is just a click away, there are no longer the geographic restraints there once were.

A successful sale is all about Research, Representation and Reach.

Advocacy

I also have the experience required to make me a strong advocate and effective troubleshooter should things go wrong – which they sometimes do. I’m not here for a quick sale but to help you get the best result, with the least amount of hassle and in the most cost-effective manner possible. And on the rare occasion where things go south, I will be fully committed to your cause until the job is done.

After all, I want to work with you more than once!


Real estate aside, I am a well-traveled Kiwi with an American accent, having spent 18 of my first 20 years overseas. My husband Mark and I live in Kumeu with our blended family of five kids and two dogs, Whiskey and Rocks. In our downtime we try to keep on top of our lifestyle block, hunt for waterfalls in the Waitakeres, explore the rugged West Coast and road test Mark’s ‘comp strength’ BBQ’s on our family and friends.
